Hypnotherapy

People used to be, and some still are, quite wary of hypnotherapy because it uses that strange phenomenon called hypnosis. There were plenty of myths surrounding hypnosis and those who practised it. When I first started my training I had a few friends and acquaintances who wouldn’t look me directly in the eye! Well, I’m glad to tell you that you can look me in the eye and I won’t have you jumping around the room croaking like a frog!

Hypnosis is, in fact, a perfectly natural state of mind for all human beings. To me, hypnosis means a focused state of  mind.

When you are focused, or concentrating, on one thing to the exclusion of all else, you are more than likely experiencing hypnosis. If you have ever been reading, watching the TV or a DVD and been unaware of someone asking you if you would like a coffee, then you will know what I mean.

It’s when we are focused in this way that we can access the unconscious mind which is where all our hopes, dreams, fears and phobias lie. It makes sense to me then that hypnosis is the ideal tool to recreate that focus and enable me to work with my clients to effect the change they are working towards.

Hypnotherapy is non intrusive. It is based on communication; communication between therapist and client, conscious and unconscious.

Some of the issues that hypnotherapy is commonly used for are stress, weight problems, digestive disorders, menstrual problems, menopause, sleep disturbances, lethargy, anxiety, poor concentration and poor memory.

If you would like to know more about hypnotherapy and how it may be able to help you, please feel free to call or email for more information. I also offer a free half hour consultation giving you the opportunity to ask questions and ensure you are happy and comfortable with the methods I use.
