Hypnotherapist
Hypnotherapists often use hypnosis to take a client ‘back in time’ to, say, childhood memories. This process is called regression and usually involves our current lives. However, it is now commonly used to take a client back to a previous life or lives.
Why would we want to regress back to a previous life? Well, I for one wanted to do it for the fun factor! It can be fascinating to find out what might have happened to us centuries ago and to see if we have bought any traits with us from the past into the present. I know several people who have experienced regressions where they had a passion for, say, music in a previous life and in this one have realised it again perhaps as a singer or songwriter.
There is more to it than that though. Past life regression is also useful in a therapeutic way. There are times when our problems appear to have no root in our current lives. Through regression we may find that the problem stems from a supposed past life. We’ve all heard the stories of soldiers saying goodbye to their wives as they go off to war, the wife crying out “I’ll wait for you, I’ll love you forever”, only for the man never to return. Well what if the unconscious mind decides to take that literally and stops you from having a successful relationship in this life? You may think it’s far fetched, but is it really…
If something like this appears to surface during a regression, I have the training and expertise to assist my client in working through the issue dissolving any influence it has on the present.
